JANUARY 5 2015 DEVOTIONAL Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Isaiah 1:16-17 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10 Dont you just love it when you have a clean desk, clean house, clean kitchen, clean whatever...I sure do. That is one of the things I love about the snow, it just looks so clean, until it starts to melt and then it turns to mud! A picture of us when we try to clean up our lives without allowing Jesus to do His cleaning. Pretty soon all that fluff and stuff that we put overtop of our sin begins to fade away and then we are left a muddy mess. That is why the Psalmist said renew a right spirit within me....Lord start that cleaning from the inside, clean up my heart, change my heart oh God. Lets look at it a little differently, say I cleaned up my desk and just threw everthing that was on my desk into the drawers. Have I really cleaned my desk? Can I find what I am looking for? Am I still a cluttered mess? The answer is Oh yea, I am still a cluttered mess, probably even more so now because everthing is cramed into the drawers that I will have an even worse time trying to find what I am looking for to do my work. Kind of reminds me of what Jesus said to the Pharisees...And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness. Luke 11:39 You know we are all about cleaning up the outside, that is easy, but the inside.....where it really counts, are you, am I willing to allow the Lord to clean up those areas of my life? Those areas that might not everyone see? We all have them dont we? This morning it is my prayer that we are open to the cleasing of the Lord and the changes He wants to make in our lives.....Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10 That we allow the Lord Jesus to wash us....Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Isaiah 1:16-17 Have a GREAT Monday everyone......time to get this day started. Praying that everyone takes time to reflect and allow the Lord to make a difference in their lives. Lord, may I allow YOU to make a difference in my life. https://youtube/watch?v=J2bjL9kpXhY
