JAZZ SESSION ON SUNDAY JULY 7TH 2013 AT CR & FC 1.30 P.M. ONWARDS. Jazz sounds in the month of June as in the words of the song was “bustin’ all over” and we had an interesting array of different schools of jazz presented by the musicians. We say thank you to all the musicians-the experienced and the new talent. The vibes on July 7th will be spread by :- (a) Rodney Robot - vocals/guitar, Refaai Thowfeek-drums, Basil Paiva-bass and Marlon Pietersz-piano. (b) The new talent-Shala Amarasuriya, Gyles Dharmaratne - vocals, Daniel Prins-drums, Julius Mitchell-piano with a bassist to be announced. (c) Cathy Menezes-piano/vocals and her group from Australia . Cathy as you know is the daughter of the late Tom Menezes a multi-instrumentalist who shone as a trumpeter, pianist, bassist, drummer, saxophonist-you name the instrument and he could play it with no glitches and was a top favourite at our session. News from CR & FC - is that due to many protests the gate for the Sunday Jazz has been reduced to Rs. 300/=. So please pass the word around to all your friends.
