JD was one of the last relatives I had left on the Bartley side. He was a wonderful man, so giving to so many causes. He was an older cousin and always encouraged me as I grew up and always there in the years of some difficulty in my life. I am so proud of the time that he and I and lots of others in Surry raised money and got the Childrens Center of Surry built & up & running. He has stayed true to that cause all these years...I know it was one of his most proud accomplishments. He was a real man of good and character. I will miss you!
