JEE Main and Advanced will not be merge in 2015 According to sources one proposal was made to merge JEE Main and JEE Advanced examination in 2015 and UPA has already discussed this proposal. This proposal was made to avoid vacant seats in IITs/NITs. Presently IITs seats are filled on the basis of JEE Advanced ranks and NITs seats are filled through JEE Main ranks. After discussion UPA has decided not to merge these two exams from 2015. JEE Advanced 2015 is likely to be conducted on May 24, 2014. This will be conducted jointly by IIT Mumbai, Guwahati, Roorkee, Kharagpur, Madras and Delhi. All other IITs will extend their cooperation to IIT Mumbai for conducting the exam. There is no change in syllabus or pattern of the exam. Official notification is likely to be released by the first week of October. JEE Mains exam is conducted by CBSE board. This will be held in the month of April this year. Fifteen lakh candidates are expected to apply for the exam all over the country. 1,50,000 candidates are selected and are allowed to appear for JEE Advanced. There are thirty thousand seats in NITs and up to 10,000 seats in IITs across India.
