JEMPOL: A man and his wife were charged Tuesday in the Bahau magistrates court with the murder of two male Indian nationals at KM10 of Jalan Rompin-Bahau here on Jan 3. Rubber tapers V. Rajendran, 36, and V. Vijaya, 49, of Taman Desa Puteri, Bahau, nodded to indicate that they understood the charge read out by the court interpreter before Magistrate Zuhair Rosli. The duo was charged, with several people still at large, with the murder of Venkateshan Ramasami on Jan 3 between 5pm and 9pm at KM10 Jalan Rompin-Bahau here. They were also charged, with several people still at large, with the murder of Arumugam Kesavan on the same date and at the same time and place. No plea was recorded. The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Rasyidah Murni Adzmi. Rajendran and Vijaya were not represented. The court fixed Feb 27 for mention of the case pending reports on the post-mortem and from the Chemistry Department. - Bernama
