JEREMIAH 12 If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, Then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, In which you trusted, they wearied you, Then how will you do in the floodplain of the Jordan? (Jeremiah 12:5 NKJV) If you have been wearied by the footmen, what more of the horsemen? This hits hard. Many of us are wearied by small issues in our lives, we sweat over the small stuff. Footmen! We betray God in the easiest of situations. I missed prayer time because Generations was on. Footmen! I didnt go to church, because Manchester United was playing. Footmen! Im leaving church because people dont greet me. Footmen! I cant keep the Sabbath this week because the family is meeting and if Im not there they will think Im not supportive. Footmen! Those of us who know and understand Biblical prophecy know that a time of persecution is coming when we shall be facing death and torture for our faith. When you will be asked to give up Christ or be tortured. If we betray God in a time of peace, how will we fare in the time of trouble? We need to get over our footmen issues because the horsemen are coming. God has promised a way of escape under every temptation. Let us let Him guide us through these footmen trials as we prepare and get stronger for horsemen trials! No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
