JERRY LEE LEWIS NOW ON BLITZ MAGAZINES WEB SITE When his acclaimed Mean Old Man album for Verve Records was released in 2010, there was expressed concern within some circles about the overall health and well being of the beloved Ferriday, Louisiana native, who four years earlier had proclaimed himself on record to be the Last Man Standing. Various media appearances in support of the Verve release showed Lewis appearing at times both drained and frail, although nonetheless able to rise to the occasion when duty called. Thankfully, in what can rightfully be called answered prayer, any such concerns have been more than put to rest with the release of Lewis most recent release for The Welk Groups Vanguard Records, Rock & Roll Time. Therein, one of rock and rolls absolute masters reaffirms his status as such with true to form interpretations of monster classics by Billy Thorpe And The Aztecs, Jimmie Rodgers, Mack Vickery, Chuck Berry, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and others, with guest appearances by the Bands Robbie Robertson, the Rolling Stones Keith Richards and Ron Wood, and others. Editor/Publisher Michael McDowell has the story in the New Releases section of The Shape Of Things To Come column on Blitz Magazines web site: blitzmag.blogspot/2007/01/shape-of-things-to-come-by-michael.html. And lest there be any doubt about his ongoing ability to sustain such a high quality of output at this juncture, this live clip from several weeks ago at B.B. Kings in New York City (in which he premiers selections from Rock & Roll Time) will irrefutably demonstrate that The Killer Rocks On: https://youtube/watch?v=xLbbyHgeMnY
