JERSEY CITY SCHOOL CHILDREN PARTNER WITH MACYS TO RAISE MONEY FOR MAKE A WISH Dear friend: I am pleased to announce that the acclaimed Conwell PS#3 drama program has partnered with Macys for a unique fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish foundation. As you probably know, Make A Wish is a special organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Children everywhere have been granted wonderful experiences like VIP trips, shopping sprees and even the opportunity to be Batman for a day. To benefit Make A Wish, the Conwell Kidz drama students are asking every man, woman and child to write a letter to Santa with their unique wish for the holidays -- whether that be as simple as a special toy or as lofty as world peace or aide for the people suffering from the typhoon in the Philippines. For each letter collected by the Conwell Kidz, Macys will match with a $1 donation to the Make A Wish Foundation. And on December 6th for National Believe Day, Macys will match each letter collected at $2 to the Make A Wish Foundation. On December 6th for National Believe Day, our Conwell Kidz will present all of their letters collected to Macys at Newport Mall with the goal of presenting 10,000 letters. The Conwell Kidz will then perform in the Macys lobby a sneak-preview of their production of Yes Virginia - The Musical -- based on the true story of 8-year-old Virginia O’Hanlon, who wrote a letter to the New York Sun newspaper in 1897 inquiring about the existence of Santa Claus. We are asking every man, woman and child to take a few moments between today and December 5th to write your letter to Santa. Letters can be dropped off in the large red Make A Wish mailbox in the Conwell PS#3 lobby or mailed to Conwell Kidz Drama Program, Frank R.
