JESUS - From Genesis to Revelation - The Son of God Revealed Genesis - Part 1 When you come to Gods Word desiring to see Jesus and you find Him and behold Him in the Word, something special happens, Life is supernaturally imparted to you. The Book of Proverbs says that Gods words, are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. (Proverbs 4:22) There will be an impartation of Gods kind of health and life to every area of your life. It comes not just by simply reading the Word but by seeing Jesus in the Word. The Bible is not a book of rules for right living for us, it is all about Jesus and what He has done for us. When you find Jesus in the Word, you find yourself in Him for as He is, so are we in this world. (1 John 4:17) You will discover as He is righteous, accepted and favored before God, so are you! When you see Jesus in the Word, you experience His life. Jesus said, I have come that they may have life, and that they may have life more abundantly. (John 10:10) He also said, The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63) When you allow Jesus supply of life to flow in your life and you see and behold Him in the Word, you will be transformed from glory to glory. (2 Corinthians 3:18) Many of the Bible stories, parables and Old Testament feasts are about Jesus, His love for you and His finished work at Calvary.Today I would like to show some examples of pictures of Jesus in the Book of Genesis with some of the Stories we will read there, starting with creation. Creation: I will start with Genesis 1:1 In the Beginning God created the heavens and the earth To show Jesus from the very beginning we will look at John 1:1-5 +14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. Here in John it clearly states that Jesus was with Our Father in Heaven from the very beginning of time. God the Father and the Son have existed eternally in fellowship with one another and have always been. Luke 24:27 will reconfirm this. And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scripture the things concerning Himself. Jesus is saying He has been in existence since the beginning. The First five books of the Bible are by Moses and the remaining books of the Old Testament are Written by the Prophets. The next Story we will look at for a picture of Jesus in Genesis is the Story of Noah, Noah: In the story of Noah (Genesis chapter 6-9) God saved a man who was righteous by faith by taking Sin from the earth with a flood of water in the safety of an Ark. This is a picture of Our Salvation. God saved man from Sin by sending flooding water (Baptism in the Spirit) and an Ark of protection, by sending His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross to save us from sin and to make us righteous by Faith, as Noah was said to be. Next lets look at the Story of Abrahams sacrifice in Genesis 22:1-13 for a glimpse of Our Lord and Savior. Abraham: In the Story of Abraham, God Commands Him to take His only Son with Sarah and sacrifice him as proof of his love and obedience to God. God stops Abraham and provides a ram to sacrifice instead. Here the youthful Isaac (Called Abrahams only son) carried the wood (the Cross) up to Mount Moriah (Mount Calvary). Then on Mount Moriah, Jesus is the true Sacrificial ram sent from the Father. The Holy Bible is full of these symbolisms of the love of Our Father and Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We will look at one more account in the Story of Joseph in Genesis Chapter 37-50. Joseph: In the life story of Joseph, Joseph represents Jesus. He came to His own, but His own did not receive Him. Rejected by His brothers, Joseph found comfort in a Gentile bride, and became a blessing to the Gentile world. But he has not forgotten His brothers, who will recognize Him at His second appearance. Isnt this the story of Gods ancient people, Israel. God sent His only Son as a Sacrifice but they rejected their Brother-The Messiah, and will acknowledge Him at his Second Coming. I hope this has helped to give you a glimpse of Jesus Christ in the Book of Genesis and that you will continue to join us as we Magnify Him in every book of the Bible. Please Join us next Thursday for Part 2 as Jesus is illuminated in the Book of Exodus!
