JESUS WAS THE GOD CALLED “I AM” THAT SPOKE TO MOSES AT THE BURNING BUSH IN EXODUS 3:1-14. 1. THE BIBLE TESTIFIES THAT JESUS IS GOD John 8:56 - Jesus said: “YOUR father Abraham rejoiced to see my day; and he saw it, and was glad.” John 8:57 - Then said the Jews unto Him, “Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?” John 8:58 - Jesus said unto them, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, “I AM.” .......................................... John 5:46 – Jesus said to the Jews: “For had you believed Moses, you would have believed ME, for Moses wrote about ME.” …...................................... 2. MRS. WHITE ALSO AGREED WITH THE BIBLE THAT JESUS IS GOD # (a) - Mrs. White says, “It was CHRIST who from the bush on Mount Horeb spoke to Moses saying, I Am That I Am. . . . Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you. Ex. 3:14. This was the pledge of Israels deliverance. So when He came in the likeness of men, He declared Himself the I Am. The Child of Bethlehem, the meek and lowly Saviour, is God manifest in the flesh. 1 Tim. 3:16. And to us He says: I Am the Good Shepherd. I Am the living Bread. I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. - Desire of Ages, page 24. # (b) - Mrs. White says, Christ lived and died as a man, that He might be God both of the living and of the dead.” - (Letter 97, 1898) ….. SDA Bible Commentary, volume 7, pages 925 and 926. 3. WAS JESUS CHRIST CALLED JEHOVAH IN THE OLD TESTAMENT? Statement # 1 - Mrs. Ellen G White says, “Jehovah is the name given to Christ. Behold, God is my salvation, writes the prophet Isaiah; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation. … Trust ye in the Lord forever; for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength.” The Signs of the Times, May 3, 1899, p. 2. {7SDABC 439.3} Statement # 2 - Mrs. Ellen G White while speaking of Jesus says, “Jehovah, the eternal, self-existent, uncreated One, Himself the source and sustainer of all, is alone entitled to supreme reverence and worship.” - Patriarchs and prophets, 305. - (SDA Bible Commentary, Volume 7, p. 439.2). I hope that you who are an Adventist who believe in the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy will not question JESUS CHRISTS divinity again.
