JFDB News Update Premier League 2013/2014 NPL Round 05 # PREVIEW Saturday October 18th, 2013 Title: Waterhouse, Tivoli in big precursor clash In a precursor to their knockout final Waterhouse and Tivoli Gardens will clash in the marquee match up as Red Stripe Premier League resume on Sunday. Both Waterhouse and Tivoli Gardens have a Flow Champions Cup final on Monday, October 28 and todays game will be just as important as both teams hunt the psychological advantage. Head coach Glendon Admiral Bailey has Tivoli Gardens looking like Bayern Munich with their style of play and possession as was evident in their 5-0 mauling of Arnett Gardens in the Flow semifinal last week. Their wingbacks Christopher Jackson and Kemar Flemmings ate playing well advance and are difficult to pick up. In addition to midfield maestro Kaemmar Daley is in the form of his life and along with Dwayne Smith, Jameel Thompson, Damion Gordon and Ranike Anderson will prove an handful this season. But Waterhouse with the most talked out player in Jermaine Tuffy Anderson, the resurrected Romario Campbell, the talented Lamar Nelson, Marvin Morgan, Hugh Howell, Hughan Gray and Rohan Amos are considered title favourites but will have to be their best to stop the marauding Tivoli Gardens. Waterhouse are third on seven points just one above of Tivoli in fifth spot on six points. Meanwhile leader Humble Lion with nine points host ninth-placed Boys Town on five points at Effortville Community Centre in Clarendon. I am expecting the Geoffrey Maxwell coached Lion to beat Boys Town and maintain their lead atop of the league. Boys Town did nothing in the transfer window and indeed look a bit stale and lacking ideas and will struggle this season unless some serious acquisitions happen in January. But they are no pushovers and will as usual be there about. Champions Harbour View lagging behind in 10th spot with four points welcome the inconsistent Arnett Gardens in seventh place with five points in an intriguing match at the Compound. Both teams are coming off Flow Champions Cup semifinal defeats and will be looking to rebound. It will be interesting to see how Arnett bounce back from their humiliating loss and with coach Calvin Lewis having poor start with his tactics and team selection he will be under scrutiny and must deliver. It will be a match that can go either way and loss for Arnett could see the pressure mount on Lewis to address their defensive problems. With that in mind I expects Harbour View ti emerge victorious. Former champions Portmore United are still hunting their first win and should get it at the expense of Sporting Central Academy at the Juici Patties Park. Portmore are at the bottom of the league on one point while Sporting are just above them with three points in a bottom of the table clash. It will be interesting to see how Levaughn Williams of Portmore perform against his former club Sporting where he honed his skills from his youth days. Nevertheless I expecting Portmore to notch their first win of the season. Second placed Montego Bay United on seven points should get the better of a Rivoli United outfit in eighth spot on five points. The match between fourth place August Town on six points and Cavalier also on six points should be an even affair which can go either way. Predictions August Town vs Cavalier -- draw Harbour View vs Arnett -- Harbour View win Humble Lion vs Boys Town -- Lion win Montego Bay vs Rivoli -- Montego Bay win Sporting vs Portmore -- Portmore win Tivoli vs Waterhouse -- Tivoli win Web Site – jfdb.info Email - [email protected] Media Page - jfdb.info/main/media.asp?mn=1 Facebook Group - Jamaica Football Database Facebook user - Jfdb Jamaica Twitter - footballdataJA Skype – jfdb.info or [email protected] or Jamaica Football Database Whatapps Group ~ “ send me your number ” Chat group direct on Blackberry BBM – 2AB2F0F3 Jamaica Football Database “ The Gateway to Football “
