Goals by John Barrett and Allan Ottey in the 58th and 90th minute respectively, pushed the St James outfit to their 11th win of the season and unto 42 points to consolidate top spot. It was sweet revenge for Montego Bay who lost 0-1 to Portmore United on November 10 and could only muster a 0-0 on December 18. It was a cruel blow for Portmore United who was suffering their 10th defeat of the season from 24 games, but remained in ninth spot on 26 points, just a point above the relegation zone. Meanwhile Harbour View’s winless streak reaches seven games after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Rivoli United at the Bramwell Clarke Sports Complex in Ewarton, St Catherine. Brian Brown returned to goalscoring form netting his league-high 11th goal of the season in the 19th minute and sending Harbour View on their way. National player John Ross Edwards then doubled the advantage in the 40th minute and the Stars of the East looked well on their way to ending the winless streak. But Rivoli United fought back gamely, with Cory Burke pulling one back in the 67th minute before with basically the last kick if the match, Devon Hodges netted in the 90+4 minute for a share of the points. It was also Hodges’ 11th goal of the season and moves him to a three way tie for the Golden Boot award. However, Harbour View will grateful for the point as the edged to 39 points to hold down second spot while Rivoli United moved to 26 points and provisionally out of the relegation zone into 10th spot. Waterhouse FC battled to a 1-1 draw with Cavalier SC at the Stadium East field and lost crucial grounds to the leader. Girvon Brown gave Cavalier a 35th minute lead but Gary McIntosh earned a share of the points in the 38th minute. Waterhouse remained in third spot on 39 points while Cavalier stayed in sixth spot on 30 points and will have rued missing an opportunity to close the gap on the fourth placed team for that playoff push. Francois Swaby joined Hodges and Brown atop of the goalscoring chart when he scored in the 46th minute as Sporting Central Academy and Humble Lion battled to a 1-1 draw in the Clarendon Derby at the Juici Patties Park. Hugh Howell netted for Humble Lion in the 81st minute. It was bragging rights for Humble Lion who went unbeaten against Sporting in three premier league outings this season. But they remained in eighth spot on 28 points, one behind Sporting Central on 29 points.
