JIHAD ( A HOLY WAR ) ●●● Specially Non muslim think that ‘ jihad’ means if any muslim fighting for any reason ,whether for land, money, fame,etc. They think that ‘jihad’ is a holy war against Non believers, even many muslim think that ‘jihad’ is holy war, including many “so-called scholar” (Inverted commas) they translate ‘jihad as A “holy war”. Which is absoluter worng. ‘Jiahd’ does not means any one figthing for any reason , or ‘holy war’. Holy war’ in Arabic language is’HARBUMUKADASA” and this word does not exist any where in the Qur’an and Hadith, Doesn’t exist anywhere!. The Arabic word ‘Jihad’ derived from ‘Ja ha da’ which means ‘STRIVE AND STRUGGLE’. Jihad basically means ‘TO STRIVE OR TO STRUGGLE. For Example If A Student Is Striving For Getting Good Marks In The Examination This Is Jihad For That Student. Jihad in Islamic context means: To strive and struggle better of the society, to upliftment of society, Jihad means to strive and struggle against oppression, Subjugation , against antisocial element.also means Self defence in the battle field. “The person who strive and struggle against his own (evil) will” [Sahi ibni Habban hadith 4862] If any one strive against his own evil intention is also called a ‘jihad” and Trying to become a good human being is also ‘jihad’. Prophet Mohammed(pbuh) said to the person “For you the best jihad is to serve your parent” [Sahi Bukahri , Hadith 5972] A person ask what the best jihad: ‘True words speaking against merciless king’ [Sunna nisai , Hadith 4209] Speaking true is also ‘Jihad’ Narrated By ‘Aisha:( The mother of the faithful believers) I said, ‘O Allah Apostle!WE consider Jihad(kital in battle field) as the best deed. “The prophet said:-the best jihad(for women) is hajj Mabrur” [ Sahi Bukahri vol 2 ch 26 hadith 595] Here performing hajj(pilgrimage) is ‘Jihad’. ‘Kital’ most of the Muslim believe that ‘Jihad and ‘Kital’ is One , it’s a misconception among the Muslim as well Non-Muslim. Its one of the highest form of ‘Jihad’(strive and struggle) as a last resort in the battle field . When, after repeated efforts at conciliations had utterly failed, circumstances arose that dragged into the battlefield purely in self-defense, the prophet Mohammed (pubh) changed the whole strategy of the battlefield. The total number of casualties in all the wars that took place during his life time, when the whole Arabian peninsula came under his banner, does not exceed a few hundred in all. And various conditions for lays downs rules and regulation in the battle field 1400 years ago, At-least 13 who cannot be made victims of War(kital). 1. Women 2. Children 3. Sick and ill. 4. Monists or ascetics. 5. Religious people of other religions not involved in battle. 6. Horse 7. Animals, birds etc. 8. Torching the fields. 9. Polluting drinking water in tanks or reservoirs by any means. 10. Destroying wells and canals. 11 Demolishing homes. 12 Mentally or physically torturing the injured during war. 13. Mauling the dead bodies.
