JILL MARIE AHLGREN On the evening of Nov. 21, 2013, Jill passed away at Essentia-St. Marys Hospital in Duluth, in the company of loved ones. She was born on May 20, 1977 in Cloquet, Minn., to Bruce and Marla Ahlgren of Cloquet. Jill graduated from Cloquet Senior High School in the class of 1995, before attending the University of Minnesota, where she graduated with Bachelors degrees in Spanish and Portuguese. She continued her education with a Masters degree in Communication Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Jill worked for several years as a loan officer for a local lending company. Upon the birth of her first child, she directed her energies to raising her daughter Aili and son Kai. Learning and traveling were Jills passion. She spent time in Finland, Colombia, Mexico, and Europe, and she also traveled the United States extensively, including cherished trips to Hawaii and Alaska. Jill especially loved long train trips across the country. She was proud of her education, and loved the time spent in intellectual fellowship with her UWS colleagues. Jill was active, and enjoyed yoga, golf, swimming, and walking in the woods. She was active in the community, as a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and the Finlandia Beach Club. Jill is survived by her children, Aili and Kai, and their father, Jeremy Huhta; parents, Bruce and Marla; sister, Angie; brother, Jon; grandmother, Rachel Maki; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She also leaves behind many loving friends and relatives. VISITATION: 12 Noon Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013 until the 2 p.m. memorial service in Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Cloquet.
