JKSRTC bags awards for ‘highest tyre performance’, public transport service JAMMU, JANUARY 30: Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, Association of State Road Transport Undertakings, New Delhi has adjudged Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation as winner for highest tyre performance for the year 2011-12 amongst the Hill States of the Country and for a special award for operating public transport under severe geographical conditions for the year, 2012-13. In the 58th Annual Conference of State Transport Undertaking at Jodhpur on January 27, 2014, the Award was presented by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways Government of India to Managing Director, JKSRTC Mr. J.S. Tandon in a special function held for the purpose. On the receipt of the two awards, Minister for CAP&PD Transport (Chairman SRTC), Ch. Mohammad Ramzan and Minister of State for Transport (Vice Chairman-SRTC), Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, have conveyed their heartiest congratulations to the team of officers and entire staff of JKSRTC for their dedicated services. They hoped that the JKSRTC team would continue to work with same spirit in future as well to enable JKSRTC to rejuvenate and leap towards achieving further appreciable landmarks. Dedicated efforts of JKSRTC employees with the endeavours to serve the cause of offering transport services at odd hours and at times under quite adverse conditions have already been successful to the extent of fulfilling the target to achieve ever highest revenue earning at the end of last year 2012-13 at Rs. 90 crore approximately and further improvement during 2013-14 to get closer to 100 crore mark in revenue earnings.
