JLH & PSC Training on Trafficking in Hawaii What exactly is human trafficking? Does it even happen here in Hawaii? Please join the Junior League of Honolulu and the Pacific Survivor Center on Thursday, January 30, as we present an overview of recent trafficking cases in Hawaii, survivor needs, and how you can help. Learn from Dr. Nicole Littenberg, MD, who works directly with survivors of trafficking, torture, and domestic violence, and who founded Pacific Survivor Center to address the issues she encountered here in Hawaii. She will give an overview of trafficking in Hawaii and show some short, impactful films covering all types of trafficking (including labor trafficking), psychological control, cultural issues, and healthcare needs, with discussions after each to underscore the main topics. She will also talk about recent trafficking cases in Hawaii, what Pacific Survivor Center does, and how you can help. Participants of this evenings event will also have the opportunity to earn a Certificate of Training Completion from the PSC. This event will be held at the historic Laulima Women’s House at 1802 Keeaumoku Street in Makiki, and is open at no charge to community members who wish to learn more about human trafficking.
