JNN News Update June 13th 2014 JNN NEWS, P.O. Box 7411, Jerusalem 91073, Israel -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Have regard for your covenant, because haunts of violence fill the dark places of the land.” Ps 74:20 NETANYAHU CONFIRMS: TEENS KIDNAPPED BY TERRORIST ORGANIZATION: Three religious Israeli youths who attend a yeshiva in the Eztion Bloc of Jewish communities in Judea were kidnapped by Palestinian terrorists on Thursday. The three disappeared overnight while hitchhiking to their homes for the weekend. PM Binyamin Netanyahu confirmed the three yeshiva students were indeed kidnapped by a terrorist organization in his first on-camera statement Saturday evening. “This is absolutely clear; there is no doubt about this, said the prime minister. Netanyahu assured that Israel was doing everything in its power to bring the boys home, and reiterated that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is responsible for their well-being. We see Abbas and the PA as responsible for all attacks that come from their territory he said. Security forces are preparing for a prolonged, day and night search ahead, said one official. (Arutz-7) Pray urgently for the safe return of these abducted young men. Truly, a miracle is needed here. NETANYAHU: HAMAS KIDNAPPED MISSING BOYS: PM Netanyahu opened Sunday’s cabinet meeting with a dramatic revelation over the kidnapping of three Israeli yeshiva students, saying the Islamist terrorist group Hamas is behind the kidnapping, and vowing there will be serious consequences. IDF officials said earlier that more than 80 Hamas members were arrested overnight as part of the investigation into the kidnapping. Those detained include members of the so-called unity government between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority. IDF forces have reportedly raided hundreds of houses in Hebron, Jenin, Ramallah and other cities. Meanwhile, security forces continue to scour the Hebron area both day and night, where intelligence reports indicate the boys are being held. Palestinian terrorists will not be able to feel safe or hide, the IDF Spokespersons Office tweeted on Sunday morning. They will feel the heavy arm of Israeli military capabilities. Meanwhile, US Secretary of State John Kerry on Sunday condemned the kidnapping of the three Israeli teenagers, and said many indications pointed to the involvement of Hamas. As we gather information, we reiterate our position that Hamas is a terrorist organization known for its attacks on innocent civilians and which has used kidnapping in the past. (Arutz-7) What constant irritating smoke in the eyes it is…. Obama administration officials can switch their loyalties in a heartbeat – one day declaring they are “willing to work with the new Palestinian Authority/Hamas unity government, and the next, “reiterating their position” that “Hamas is a terrorist organization known for its attacks on innocent civilians – and for kidnapping.” FAMILIES OF MISSING YESHIVA STUDENTS: PRAY FOR US: The families of the three missing yeshiva students are imploring their fellow Israelis to pray for the return of their loved ones, the head rabbis in Judea and Samaria, in which they reside, said Friday. “We ask everyone, even those who are not accustomed to praying, to pray for the success of the army and the rescue of the missing boys,” read a statement from one of the families, which was communicated by the head rabbi of their settlement. “We ask all the people of Israel to pray for the three missing youths so that they come back to their homes and their families safe and sound,” said one of the other families of the three teens. The chief rabbis of Israel called on the public to read Psalms and pray for the return of the young boys. PM Netanyahu personally called the families on Friday to express his sympathies and assure them that Israel’s security forces were doing everything possible to find their children. I know these are moments of anguish,” Netanyahu told the families of the missing teens. “Be strong. The state of Israel is doing everything it can to find your sons and I promise to stay in touch with you.Ø (Jerusalem Post) Pray for immense comforting of these three families now suffering such deep heartache and anxiety for their abducted sons. PALESTINIANS ACTIVISTS CALL FOR DESTRUCTION OF CCTV FOOTAGE IN ATTEMPT TO FRUSTRATE IDF SEARCH: Hamas activists on Saturday called on Palestinian shopkeepers and businessmen in Hebron to destroy any CCTV footage that could be used by the IDF to locate the three missing yeshiva students. The activists posted their call on social media networking, especially Facebook and Twitter. Eyewitnesses said Fatah activists in Hebron also confiscated some security cameras to prevent the IDF from laying its hands on them. Palestinians said over the weekend the three students might have been kidnapped as part of an attempt to secure the release of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails. Palestinians terrorists jailed in Israel are currently celebrating the kidnapping of the three Jewish youths. Palestinian terrorist groups routinely call for the abduction of Israeli civilians and soldiers, noting that the Jewish state has proven its willingness to tra de hundreds of jailed Arab terrorists for a single captive Jew. Many Palestinian political activists in Judea, Samaria and Gaza Strip expressed hope on Facebook and Twitter that Israel would be forced to release a large number of prisoners in return for the students. Israel’s former Israel Security Agency head Yuval Diskin said the kidnappings were the result of Israels policy of releasing convicted terrorists in prisoner swaps or as part of negotiations, and called for an end to the practice. Meanwhile, in the Gaza Strip, families of Palestinian prisoners celebrated the “abduction” of the three students by handing out sweets to passersby. (Jerusalem Post) Intercede against all further terrorist kidnapping attempts. Pray also that Israelis will heed the IDF’s frequently repeated warnings against hitchhiking in dangerous areas. US SCRAMBLES TO EVACUATE AMERICANS FROM IRAQ CHAOS: The US rushed over the weekend to evacuate hundreds of Americans from Iraq and was desperately making plans to rescue thousands of others as advancing al Qaeda-inspired forces vowed to attack Baghdad and topple the government. There are about 5,000 American contractors remaining in the increasingly dangerous country, including a team that was bailed out Thursday from a base an hour north of the threatened capital, Baghdad. The three planeloads of Americans were mostly civilians who were part of one of the largest training programs for the Iraqi military - which so far has been largely impotent in the fight against bloodthirsty rebels. Private companies were rushing American workers out of harm’s way as the country teetered on the brink of disintegration. The State Department warned that US citizens remain “at high risk for kidnapping and terrorist violence,” and told them to avoid public pl aces for fear of kidnappings or attacks. Intelligence sources said officials are scrambling to find ways to get other Americans out fast. “We need places to land. We need safe and secure airfields,” one source said, noting the extremists are “seizing airfields and they have surface-to-air missiles, which very clearly threatens our pilots and planes if we do go into evacuation mode.” Another US official said the US Embassy, the UN and other foreign organizations are rapidly “preparing contingency plans to evacuate employees.” (NY Post) ISIS OVERNIGHT BECOMES WORLDS RICHEST TERRORIST ORGANIZATION: The al Qaeda offshoot the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) has conquered great sections of Iraq since capturing Mosul on Tuesday, going on to expand its control southward over several other cities, with its sights set on Baghdad. In the process of seizing the oil hub of Mosul, the Islamists made off with not only various American military equipment, but also an enormous amount of cash from the citys central bank. Atheel al-Nujaifi, governor of the Nineveh province where Mosul is located, reported that ISIS pocketed 500 billion Iraqi dinars ($425 million) from the bank, according to International Business Times, which labeled ISIS the worlds richest terror force. Al-Nujaifi added that a large quantity of gold bullion was also seized, in addition to large quantities of cash from banks all across the second-largest city in Iraq. The amount seized by ISIS puts its holdings on par with those of small nations such as Tonga, the Marshall Islands and the Falkland Islands. Indeed, according to the website Money Jihad, which uses journalistic and academic sources to estimate the wealth of various terrorist organizations, ISIS is now the wealthiest such group in the world. (Israel National News) IRAQI ARMY FORCES: ‘WE CAN’T BEAT THEM: US-trained Iraqi army forces have proven unable and unwilling to confront ISIS, turning tail and leaving their equipment for spoils according to reports. In its desperation, Iraq has called for civilians to volunteer to fight ISIS, offering to arm them. One Iraqi army officer told reporters we cant beat them. Theyre trained in street fighting and were not. We need a whole army to drive them out of Mosul. Theyre like ghosts; they appear to hit and disappear within seconds. ISIS is said to be moving like a conventional army fighting an expeditionary war, heading toward Baghdad along three parallel lines, dividing the country and moving very fast. On Sunday, Iraqi security forces and ISIS gunmen clashed near al-Khalis, which is about 18 miles from Baquba. In turn, Baquba is about 37 miles northeast of Baghdad. With acts of cruelty, such as public beheading, torture, floggings and other ext reme acts of violence, ISIS becoming the most feared terrorist group in the Middle East. Terrorists from the group boasted on Twitter that they had executed 1,700 Iraqi government soldiers, posting gruesome photos to support their claim. Israeli experts suggest the extended reach of ISIS, which also threatens Jordan with its aims of a massive regional state under Islamic law, could also pose a serious threat to the Jewish state. (Arutz-7/Wall Street Journal/CNN) ROGERS: IRAQ’S SECTARIAN CIVIL WAR IS ‘AS DANGEROUS AS IT GETS’ FOR US, ALLIES: GOP Rep. Mike Rogers, chairman of the House Committee on Intelligence, said Sunday the uprising in Iraq by an Islamic terrorist group is “as dangerous as it gets,” and that the Obama administration must reunite with Arab nation partners to stop the surge. “You can’t just fire missiles and come home,” said the Michigan lawmaker. Rogers and others say the situation goes far beyond Iraq’s borders and is a major problem because some of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant fighters, or ISIS, have passports, which allows them to be trained - or “radicalized” - in the region and return to Europe and the US. He argued that another major concern is that some of the fighters in the al Qaeda-connected group are seasoned combat veterans. “It’s a jihadist Disneyland,” he said. “We need to do something to stop the momentum.” Obama on Friday said he would not send troops in Iraq, but left open the possibility of military action.
