Go to the bottom go to career opportunities in that website Department: Wire Transfers POSITION PURPOSE Under general supervision, the Wire Transfer Operator will be responsible for the accurate and timely transmission of outgoing US Domestic/USD International and Foreign Exchange Wire Transfers . DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS An incumbent in this position performs a variety of duties that allow UNFCU members to meet their financial obligations around the world. A Wire Transfer Operator is distinguished from a Wire Transfer Assistant by their daily responsibility for entering payment instructions into various RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement), money transfer payment systems, for familiarity with practices of contracting and settling within the foreign exchange market, strong background in all applicable US and international regulations and ability to act in accordance with internal compliance guidelines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Transmit USD and Foreign Exchange wires via FedLine Advantage. Contract foreign currency purchases on behalf of UNFCU members. Enter settlement instructions associated with contracts entered on behalf of members. Administer, process, and review domestic USD standing order wire instructions on a daily basis. Receive and respond in a timely and accurate manner to incoming service messages. Investigate and resolve any wire transfer problems reported via service message within time guidelines. Correspond with appropriate bank personnel as required and document action taken. Perform individual wire transfer operator balancing at designated time(s) during the day. Participate in end-of-day balancing between UNFCU and the Fed for USD/FX wires. Monitor intra-day use of Fed funds and accurately report the balance of remaining wire transfers per day so that the appropriate balance at the Fed can be maintained by Accounting. Practice vigilance in the detection of potentially fraudulent wire transfer requests. As requested, assist in resolving exceptions detected by Accounting. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS The incumbent in this position must possess intermediate knowledge of cash management as it pertains to high-value, urgent transaction processing; as well as knowledge of returned wire process. The incumbent must have intermediate PC skills, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, strong customer service orientation, excellent verbal and written communications skills and a willingness to work flexible work hours as needed. A typical pathway of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position is graduation from high school plus a minimum of two years of high-volume payment experience in a financial institution. unfcu/
