JOB ALERT for OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE position located in HOUSTON, TX!!! Houston (Triangle) OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE Key Skills and Competencies: 1. Possess a strong mechanical aptitude and a minimum of five years prior outside sales experience in the valve, actuator, flow controls or related industries – prior transferable experience, such as inside sales and field service, may be taken into account. 2. BS Engineering degree preferred but not mandatory. 3. Freedom and willingness to travel occasionally for business purposes. Must be able to drive and possess a valid driver’s license. Must be able to fly in airplanes. 4. A self-starter able to operate independently within the assigned sales territory. 5. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. 6. Must be able to lift an approx.. 70 lbs. Company demo case into and out of a vehicle. 7. Possess above average organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal). 8. Good public speaking and presentation skills. 9. Competence with Microsoft based pc software. Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 1. Responsible for achieving budgeted bookings of the company’s products within the assigned territories. 2. Develop fiscal year booking forecasts and sales plans for the territories which support the company’s budget and are consistent with the spirit of the company’s plans. 3. Report on a monthly basis on all sales activity within the territory. Track and report all customers, major projects and competitor’s activity within the territories. 4. Track and report all company related expenses at least every two weeks. 5. Make product presentations to customers during sales calls and trade shows to promote COMPANY products and to maintain good customer relations. 6. Provide product and application training as required for customers, reps and/or new employees. 7. Develop a sound understanding of our competitors, their products and their functionality. 8. Participate in industry or trade associations (e.g. ISA) as appropriate to maintain customer and industry familiarity. 9. Provide initial field service and/or trouble shooting as required. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
