JOB ANNOUNCEMENT (Baton Rouge): Information Technology Specialist – Capital Area Alliance for the Homeless JOB DESCRIPTION PROGRAM TITLE: HMIS Data Collection and Social Media Specialist REPORTS TO: Randy Nichols, Executive Director MISSION: To assist in data collection and reporting for programs that are funded through or coordinated by Capital Area Alliance for the Homeless (CAAH), to ensure performance at the highest levels, and to work with the Executive Director in creating social media platforms. The successful applicant will be • knowledgeable of and/or interested in the best practices of information system collection, • self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team, • able to work well with staff of member agencies, • possess an aptitude for problem solving, and • display a passion for social justice. DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS: 1. Complete Intake forms at the One Stop Homeless Services Center 2. Train One Stop and agency members in collection of data, 3. Work with System Administrator to ensure data quality from end users, 4. Monitor compliance through on-site visits to agencies, 5. Assist in preparing data reports for grant documents and public communications, 6. Research best practices in data collection, social media, and homeless services, 7. Monitor Food Stamp Applications, 8. Interface with IT provider, 9. Coordinate building wide “Rotating Duty Officer” schedule, and 10. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. REQUIREMENTS: • Possession of direct experience in data collection and/or social media • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools and other basic computer skills • Experience in website construction and design COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: • Salary and benefits package negotiable depending on qualifications and experience • Travel reimbursement • Paid Vacation (10 days), Sick Leave (12 days), and Paid Holidays (10 days) Contact Randy Nichols (225-388-5800).
