JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Position title: Head, Global Campaigns Reports to: Director, Global Campaign Contract/Location Details: This is a 2-year fixed-term contact. Located at WWF UK offices. I. Mission of the post: He/she will support the global campaign director in implementing a global vision for campaigning within WWF that links direct action to conservation delivery. He/she will work with the director to strengthen the role of WWF’s existing campaigns to the benefit of the membership while helping shape the direction of our future network wide flagship campaign. He/she will also provide substantive inputs on shaping campaign advocacy and high-level engagement across the business, governmental and non-governmental sectors. II. Major Function: Supports, coordinates and gives strategic direction to the campaign activities of WWF International. Work with campaigns staff across the WWF Network to ensure that the organisation is strategic, coherent, and compelling in its engagement of supporters, conservation partners, and other key audiences. Works closely with the director and the conservation and communications departments at WWF International to ensure strong integration of activities to establish a culture of campaigning within WWF at all levels in the organisation. Works with campaign teams to address real time campaign challenges and opportunities. III. Major Duties and Responsibilities: • Promotes the effective integration of conservation, communications, marketing, partnerships and fundraising in campaigns across the Network. • Supports and coordinates WWF International’s campaign work through engagement with network campaign teams. • Coordinates with the conservation and communications departments to ensure campaigns support both organizational strategies. • Develops campaign briefs, executive level presentations and coordinate internal campaign messaging for WWF leadership. • Supports existing WWF International campaign teams and provide direct guidance and assistance when needed. • Develops effective working relationships within and outside the WWF network, with a focus on multiplying the impact of WWF’s campaigns. • Performs other duties as requested by the director. IV. Profile: Required Qualifications • At least five years proven experience in leading and implementing campaign strategies and advocacy work. • Understanding of, and experience in, WWF campaigns is essential. • Demonstrated leadership ability, including the ability to build a team of highly motivated and well-qualified staff, and to foster the integration of diverse, multi-disciplinary actors into focused initiatives addressing clear targets. • Expertise in campaigning techniques, policies, strategies, target audience analysis, structure and impact. • Long-term planning and analytical skills, as well as demonstrated ability to multi-task and work effectively to tight deadlines without compromising quality. • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate complex issues in a clear manner to a wide variety of audiences across diverse channels. • Strong command of written English is essential. • Willingness to step in and lead individual campaigns, or campaign actions, when necessary. • Strong strategic and analytical skills, including an ability to analyze political dynamics, which drive positive results. • Fluent English is essential; other languages would be an asset. • Adheres to WWF’s values, which are: Knowledgeable, Optimistic, Determined and Engaging.
