JOB DESCRIPTION: - Responsible for providing support to CLIENT data customers. These data customers will primarily be small-to-medium businesses that purchase IP-based services, but will also include independent Internet Service Providers and key enterprise customers (e.g.- state governments, large businesses, hospital/medical networks). Services supported include ATM, Frame Relay, Ethernet Internet Access, TLS, VPN, MPLS, Metro-E, and BGP routing from CLIENT. - Interface directly with the business customers, customer IT organizations, and Account Team Managers and Sales Engineers in CLIENT coverage areas. - Utilize an automated ticketing and order provisioning systems to record and track resolution of customer issues. - Provisioning and turn-up support for customers of the services listed above. - Coordinating and scheduling customer turn-ups with the customer, local operations and sales account team. - Work is performed in a 24x7 Network Operations Center environment. Candidates must be available to work any shift. Primary responsibilities include support for customers of the services listed above, including turn up and repair, as well as monitoring customer-specific connections to the CLIENT Data Network. Network Analysts take customer calls via Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) queue and work with Engineering and Network Operations groups to accomplish customer migrations, network changes, upgrades, and repairs. Other duties/technologies as assigned. DESIRED EXPERIENCE: - 2+ years experience with IT/LAN/WAN in an operations or help-desk environment – 2+ years troubleshooting network elements, protocols, services, and transport layer problems – 2+ years telephony experience - 6+ years of directly related telephony or network operations experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience required – 1+ years experience using the Remedy ticketing system – Experience with web based tools and applications related to metrics, statistics and data analysis. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Knowledge of central office transport equipment including test methods – 2-year degree in technical field and 2 years related work experience. - 4 years data telecommunications experience. - 3+ years command line experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco and/or Juniper routers. - 3+ years troubleshooting network elements, routing protocols, data services, and transport layer problems. - Exceptional customer service skills. - 3+ years in a data network operations environment for a large, enterprise network or service provider. – 3+ years experience in IP services provisioning, troubleshooting and repair involving Service Provider switches and routers and Customer Premise Equipment issues. – 2 years experience in ATM and Frame Relay, preferably in a service provider environment. - Knowledge of IP routing - Understanding of LAN/WAN fundamentals CERTIFICATES/LICENSES: - Current Juniper JNCIA or Cisco CCNA - Juniper JNCIS, JNCIP or Cisco CCNP/IP/DP Preferred.
