Job Description Duties • Conduct an employment and economic empowerment specific needs assessment with referred domestic violence victims. • Create a client-driven service plan in conjunction with the client to address their goals and needs. • Provide employment and economic empowerment services meeting the scope of work specified in grant proposal. • Provide domestic violence victims advocacy and individual case management emphasizing employment and economic empowerment. • Provide job preparation training and work retention advocacy. • Conduct ongoing classes/workshops on resume writing, cover letter writing, interview skills, job hunting skills, LinkedIn & social media networking for DV survivors, workplace safety planning, basic computer skills, career exploration, budgeting & financial literacy, and other relevant topics. • Utilize the career empowerment and financial literacy curriculum developed by The Allstate Foundation and its partners for workshops. • Work with clients to complete an information release waiver to determine TANF eligibility; if client is not willing to sign information release waiver assist them with non-TANF resources. • Ensure client TANF eligibility including: proper completion of the Form 300; obtaining required documentation; entering participant information in the TANF Eligibility Verification System (TEVS); client citizenship and residency requirements; and family composition requirements. • Ensure 95% of clients assisted are TANF eligible. • Integrate the program with existing services in Davis County, such as DWS, providing referrals and collaboration. • Advocate with employers to assist with client job retention, as needed, such as when abusers interrupt work. • Serve as a liaison with Davis Applied Technical College facilitating client enrollment, financial aid enlistment, access to the campus for on-site advocacy, client use of employment placement services, and support services to help clients successfully complete classes and find employment. • Maintain all required paperwork, forms, and documentation. • Read and comprehend the TANF grant requirements and collect all required statistics and information for grant monitoring and reporting. Submit statistics monthly to the Shelter Manager. • Complete required grant reports a minimum of one week before their due date and submit to the Shelter Manager, Grant Coordinator, and Executive Director for review. • Be aware of grant performance and outcomes and proactively work to improve performance and expand the program to assure service measures and outcome goals are met. • Coordinate with other Safe Harbor advocates for more in depth domestic violence services for clients. • Cover in emergency situations, up to and including being on-call on planned rotations. • Attend regular and scheduled staff meetings and required trainings. • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences or related field. • Must be licensed as a SSW as recognized by the Division of Public Licensing for the State of Utah or have the ability to acquire license during employment. • Must complete Domestic Violence Certification required within three months of hire date. • Knowledge of domestic violence, human behavior, community resources, services of community agencies, and Davis County programs. • Have the ability to conduct training on job skills, resume writing, and economic empowerment. • Be familiar with TANF and DWS and skilled in collaboration and interagency referrals. • Strong organization, computer skills, communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask required. • Must be able to relate positively to persons who are diverse in age, ethnicity, socio-economic levels, beliefs and lifestyles. • Must pass an annual background check investigation (BCI).
