Job Description: The objective of this position is to assemble, and sterilize all instruments, instrument trays, utensils and linen packs. Perform distribution functions as it relates to case carts and sterile instrumentation, as well as maintain limited supervision over assembling and sterilizing all instrument trays, utensils, and linen according to established procedures and principles of aseptic technique. Using established department procedures and principles of aseptic technique accurately processes and assembling surgical instrument trays, respiratory/anesthesia equipment, linen and utensils. Work Environment: Lab Environment, It is located in the basement of the Hospital. It is a fast-paced environment requiring standing for 80% of the day and moving between different departments of the hospital. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. • 2-4 years in sterile processing environment. • Certification CRCST required upon hire. • Must possess extensive knowledge in all aspects of sterile process instrumentation procedures. • Demonstrate ability to use job specific computer software applications to include Meditech Purchasing module. • OR instrumentation experience is a plus
