JOB OPPORTUNITY: BUILDING INSPECTOR Washington County is seeking qualified applicants for the position of County Building Inspector. Primary duties include administering all volumes of the North Carolina State Building Code and pertinent North Carolina General Statues, monitoring new construction and renovations, inspection of county buildings, and any related duties. This position is also responsible for the duties of the County Fire Marshal. Requirements: High School education, post secondary or specialized training related to the construction industry on building trades preferred. Minimum of Standard Level I (or be able to obtain) in Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical, Energy and Fire Inspections. Valid North Carolina Drivers License is a requirement for this position. Prefer minimum of 3-5 years experience in all phases of code enforcement. Ability to work with other departments and general public is essential. Salary dependent upon qualifications and experience with excellent benefit package.
