JOB OPPORTUNITY FOR CERAMIC ENGINEERS WITH EXPERIENCE IN TABLEWARE MANUFACTURING Job Description Ceramic Engineer Location: Vadodara (Baroda), Gujarat Department: Tableware – Bone China Education: B. Eng. (Ceramics) Min. Experience: Manager/Supervisor Arta Broch Ceramics is promoted by the directors of ABC Bearings, a 53-year old company. Arta Broch is setting up an Export Oriented bone china factory. Arta Broch has a technical collaboration with a top British Tableware manufacturer and most of its machinery comes from the UK. Arta Broch is committed to be a top quality producer and become a vendor to the top brands globally. Arta Broch already has MOUs with some of leading imports in Germany, UK and Brazil. Role Summary This position oversees technical aspects of raw materials and preparation of Slip, Pugged Body, Glaze and Moulds for casting. We are looking for someone with proven ceramic engineering experience related to dinnerware on the production level. This position is hands-on and wears overalls. The areas of responsibility are as follows. DAY--TO--DAY OPERATIONS • Ordering raw materials and supplies (some areas are oversight only). • Quality control & Technical analysis of incoming raw materials. • Troubleshooting technical production issues relating to raw materials and multiple processes. Engineering • Production process improvement, yield improvement and development for efficiency improvements. TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Oversight of existing glazes and clay bodies to ensure quality and yields. • Development of new glazes, clay bodies. • Oversight of testing procedures and programs. EXPERIENCE Previous work experience in clay and factory level production environments is required. Proven hands on experience guiding and directing technical efforts. We are looking for someone that is as good with people, as they are with materials and processes. • Hands--on experience and of technical knowledge relating to dinnerware (glaze development, clay bodies, firing processes, technical properties of finished products, knowledge of ceramic raw materials and suppliers) • Knowledgeable about production tooling and processes related to ceramic dinnerware 1. Clay and glaze preparation 2. Ram pressing, ram die making 3. Jiggering, including mold making 4. Slip casting 5. Extrusion 6. Glazing 7. Firing 8. Other processes for new production Education: 1.
