JOB OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUTH ADVISORS WITH MTC AUSTRALIA MTC Australia, a leading provider of education, employment, training and support services for young people across Sydney seeks to employ a Youth Advisor for the Opportunity Hub in Campbelltown. The Opportunity Hub’s focus will be upon inspiring young Aboriginal students to succeed in school and to actively plan for their future post school. Assisting students to successfully transition from school to sustainable work or further education will be central to the Hub’s operation. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of full-time Youth Advisors to be appointed for the Opportunity Hub program in Campbelltown. This role will be hired initially on a fixed term contract which will be reviewed at the end of February 2015 and provide full time hours Monday to Friday plus an RDO (rostered day off) monthly. Essential Criteria • Qualifications in Welfare, Youth, Education or related field • 2+ years’ experience working with at-risk young people and demonstrated understanding of issues facing young people at risk. • Experience working with Aboriginal people and communities • Proven ability to meet outcomes and key Performance Indicators • Ability to grow program/services that address social and economic disadvantage. • Demonstrated experience measurably assisting disengaged young people to remain in school and or participate in further education. • Demonstrated experience in achieving quality employment outcomes for young people. • Demonstrated experience working within school and/or alternative training environment • Medium level computer skills • High level written and oral communication skills • Current NSW Driver’s License and your own car Desirable Criteria • Experience in group facilitation This role will be hired on a Fixed Term Contract basis until 28 February 2015.
