JOB POSTING Maintenance Field Planner -- Zone A Freeport, Texas - 4/23/2014Job Number 1402956 Apply Job Information Description The Dow Chemical Company has an opening for Maintenance Field Planner in Reliability Zone A supporting Dow Marine Terminal (FMTO) at the Freeport, TX location. The Maintenance Filed Planner is an experienced person who possesses the skills and knowledge to create a job package based on the work order scope. The job package contains all information about required labor, material and services to ensure safe, cost effective and efficient execution of the work. Primary Responsibilities: Review work orders for technical completeness and return to Operations focal point (Gatekeeper) if incomplete. Prepare job packages in maintenance information / scheduling system (GEMTS / SAP) that includes resources (labor, tools, equipment, materials and services) needed to complete the job. Record tasks and information within the work order. Use feedback from Craftsmen and Operations to optimize / archive job plan packages. When possible, utilize archived job plans in combination with field visits to develop new job packages. Identify / solicit safety information and requirements to allow safe execution of job plans. Consider constructability, maintainability and cost as part of development of job plans. Plans job sequences for all disciplines required to complete the job. Supports Maintenance Procedure use policy by assuring that all job packages include the necessary procedures. If a procedure does not exist, follow established Management of Change (MOC) protocol for development and approval of new procedure(s). Manages job backlog and progresses jobs when material availability has been confirmed. Consider constructability, maintainability and cost as part of development of job plans. Communicates status of job plans to Work Activity Coordinator (WAC) and Operations focal point (Gatekeeper). Checks that job procedures include safety, health and environmental considerations and control measures to ensure safe execution of work activities. Qualifications Qualifications Required: A minimum of 3 years of maintenance or craft experience in a chemical or petro-chemical environment is required. Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks. Knowledge of computers is required to perform job tasks. Computer skills should include Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel). Our safety equipment has weight restrictions. To qualify, you must be able to use standard safety equipment which is rated for someone who weighs 300 pounds or less. Be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds. Be able to work in tight or closed-in spaces (e.g. pipe rack). Be able to climb stairs and work at heights. Must be flexible on hours when meeting timelines for developing plans and during plant turnarounds. Maintenance Filed Planner must have a good understanding of the craft skill sets and application of those craft skills when applying them to job tasks. A valid U.S. driver license is required. A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, or Qualifying Asylee/Refugee). Qualifications Preferred: Knowledge of maintenance information / scheduling software (GEMTS / SAP) would be beneficial.
