The Operations Manager needs to ensure performance objectives, reliability, integrity and cost-efficiency of our PO/TBA plant. As a leader and role model you promote QESH, continuous improvement and cost saving programs that ensure world class standards and performance. You build successful teams and keep team spirit high, even under stressful conditions. In this position you will provide direction and leadership to all staff in operations: approximately 80 FTE: Process Specialists, Operations Engineers, Shift Leads and Technicians, LLD Lead, Dayshift Supervisor & Technicians. A major shut down and turnaround is planned in 2016 and therefore you are responsible for shutdown/startup sequence and planning, handover and (pre)commissioning systems. The Operations Manager is part of the Management Team BoMa (Botlek and Maasvlakte) and you participate in developing strategic opportunities, building the business case for (CAPEX) projects and managing people, assets and budgets. The Operations Manager reports to the Site Manager. Candidate profile MSc. in Chemical or Process Engineer (or similar) 10 to 15 years operational experience in large scale continuous operational units (cracker, PDH, EO or similar where multiple and integrated unit operations are managed) Successful leadership experience in manufacturing and performance management is required Operational experience with liquefied gases and reactive processes (catalyst systems, exothermic processes, recycles, byproduct formation, etc.) Excellent people skills, ‘can do’ mentality Clear affinity and response to Process Safety Good network and connections to colleagues in similar technology Good communication skills in Dutch and English
