JOB POSTING Project Engineer - Team Lead (VINYLS) in USA-TEXAS-LA PORTE PLANT Description DuPont Engineering (DuCAP) is currently seeking a Project Engineer – Team Lead at the LaPorte site in Houston. The Project Engineer – Team Lead is accountable for project results that achieve business objectives and is responsible for translating those business objectives into the capital project objectives. The Team Lead reports through the DuCAP Engineering function and is directly accountable to the site business unit for minor capital projects (Less than $500K) implementation and status reporting. As the interface between the design group and the business team, the Team Lead monitors the capital budget to help the business maintain focus on their needs. The Team Lead is accountable to the business, working with management, technology, maintenance, and operations to bring maximum value to the business through effective leadership of the work order planning and implementation process. The Team Lead is accountable to Engineering and the consolidated site engineering team to ensure the optimum utilization of design resources, compliance with all work order systems and utilization of accepted standard site work processes. Job Responsibilities Facilitate the minor capital projects planning process and generate a clearly defined and prioritized list of jobs to be implemented. Ensure all noncapital alternatives to meet the business objectives have been evaluated. Reconcile business priorities with design resource availability and budget expectations to meet the business needs. Provide feedback to Vendor site management and site engineering leadership regarding effectiveness of site team personnel. Lead regular meetings to report on overall projects status to area leadership and lead follow-up efforts to address any system performance issues identified during the reviews. Participate in site-wide capital projects process improvement initiatives. Serve as the Sarbanes-Oxley Reviewer for Capital Projects in areas of responsibility. Provide leadership, guidance, and priority to Designers for multiple businesses. Participate as a team member during PSM & MOC audits in areas of responsibility. Lead the development of the roles and responsibilities definitions for the project and preparation of the project RACI diagram(s); ensure each functional team member understands their role and deliverables. Accountable for the overall integrated project schedule and total project cost and investment. Qualifications BS in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical and Civil preferred) At least 2 years experience in managing multiple capital projects for a plant environment. Strong leadership skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a changing environment to meet challenging business needs. Demonstrated ability to make effective oral presentations and written communication skills, including computer skills (i.e. SAP, MS Office (particularly Excel), PowerPoint, etc.). Understanding and appreciation of the various functions involved in capital projects, from FEL-1 through checkout and start-up. Experience in SAP-R3 PS, Primavera, and Icarus is a plus. Experience in High Hazard Processes and PSM-Critical systems is a plus. General knowledge of construction and contracting practices.
