Job Purpose: Serve as an analytics thought leader and subject matter expert. Provide commentary and relate industry best practices and emerging trends in order to continually improve the organization’s use of analytics. Individual would be responsible for the managing and execution of modelling projects, from the exploration of data to the creation of final reports and/or presentations. In addition, this individual would be responsible for managing analytical projects that support strategic business decisions and where appropriate, proactively support marketing and sales opportunities. Supporting the business’ BI capabilities to improve financial and operational performance, customer segmentation, consumer behaviour and risk analysis in accordance with Latin America’s strategy is at the center of this individual’s job responsibilities. This person would be required to manage the development of analysis, reports, recommendations and insights from data using statistical and non-statistical tools and techniques to discover meaningful patterns and build predictive/prescriptive models for making better business decisions. Accountabilities & Activities: Drives innovation across the business teams by identifying and recommending new analytic methodologies and tools to work within the organization. Keeps pace with change and maintains a competitive advantage within the marketplace by seeking out and learning about changes in the field. Based on an understanding of the business strategy and an expertise in analytics, proactively conceives analytics initiatives that convert raw data into actionable intelligence. Reviews source systems to accurately capture new data requirements and integrate them into the logical data model. Educates stakeholders on how analytics initiatives can help them achieve their business goals and influence them to take action based on analytical findings. Drive user adoption of analytics tools and push for increased use of data in decision-making. Manages the creation and maintenance of daily, weekly, and monthly reporting demonstrating progress against identified business goals. Define and explain chosen metrics for the benefit of our customers, and determine the direction of deeper analysis. Manages ad-hoc analytic requests from raw data through delivery quickly, efficiently, and accurately. Manages the regular QA of the business’ data. Develops visually compelling presentations that communicate the relevant insights to stakeholders in an easily consumable manner. Coordinates with other departments to develop, manage and execute repeatable programs based on analytic findings. Works on multiple projects with varying levels of complexity. Drives projects and tasks to completion through teams, regardless of changing conditions, by influencing business partners using analytical models. Uses a critical eye to examine and streamline work flows and processes within the team, through the use of data, to increase efficiency. Provides input to help design, monitor and improve data structures and data warehouses. Tests and supports BI applications and collects, improves and delivers enhancement ideas. Builds a user community and manages requirements around these custom business intelligence applications. Communicates and evangelizes the rollout of new BI applications. Coordinate/develop end-user training and materials. Serves as an on-going subject matter expert for BI applications and corresponding new capabilities. Continues personal educational development through Industry committees, seminars, conferences and/or self-study. Performs other duties as assigned by either the Programme & Change Management Director or the Head of Analytics & Data Optimization Undertakes other related duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications, Training & Experience: BA/BS degree preferred or Master’s Degree highly desirable (coursework in analytic areas of study, including but not limited to business, math, statistics, economics, or finance), and 6+ years of experience in an analytics, strategy consulting, database marketing, or other quantitative role 6+ years of experience with SQL programming. 6+ years of experience leveraging reporting and analytical tools such as SAS, Tableau, SSRS, and/or SSAS. 3+ years of experience implementing modelling techniques Certification in Data Analytic frameworks or technologies, modelling or any other information system/data evaluation area (i.e. SAS Analytics, CDMP, CHDA, ADSA, CISA, etc) preferred. Health care or insurance industry experiences a plus. Superior analytical skills with demonstrated ability to solve problems, inclusive of experience in regression and statistical modelling. Thorough working knowledge of spreadsheet, database applications, relational databases, Microsoft Suite of products (Excel and Access) and Business Objects. Demonstrated project management and organizational skills. Ability to handle complex projects in a multi-tasking environment, meeting deadlines and interacting with individuals at all levels within the organization. Business acumen and understanding of how analytics supports a medium-to-large organization including being able to successfully articulate the linkage between business decisions, business objectives, and analytical approaches & findings. Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to successfully build long-term relationships with colleagues and business partners. Experience working in diverse multicultural environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proactive attitude, fast learner, and team player. Spanish is a plus. Judgement Skills: The ability to demonstrate their competence in a competitive marketplace and leverage analytic solutions with confidence. The ability to review activities, plans and actions and determine the personnel, commercial and financial implications. The ability and experience to solve problems in a complex international environment is required. The ability to analyse uncertain and changing situations, assimilate large amounts of information and select the appropriate solutions. Freedom of Action: As delegated by either the Programme and Change Management Director or the Head of Analytics and Data Optimization for Latin America and the Caribbean. The jobholder will be required to manage the portfolio of projects assigned to him or her and oversee the delivery of quality and timely project deliverables. The jobholder will act within agreed authorisation limits. The jobholder will be expected to work on their own initiative and be self-motivated within their remit. Dimensions: The scope of the job is to manage the programme of analytic and/or data mining projects required to deliver the Latin American strategy for the business. The jobholder is responsible for managing and supervising, where applicable, all such data-driven projects within the programme. Internal Contacts: The Miami Executive Team The Executive Teams across the Group businesses. Managers and team members across all internal departments including sales, marketing, operations, IS, health care services, compliance and finance. Group functions, including other Programme offices, GTIS and Data Architecture and Business Intelligence teams. All employees within the Latin America office. Environment: The position will be based in Miami. Ability to travel extensively, as required. The jobholder will be required to work to tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
