JOB TITLE: COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER SALARY RANGE: NEGOTIABLE DEPARTMENT: LIGHTHORSE JOB DUTIES: Under the supervision of the Communications Supervisor, the Communications Officer has the primary responsibility of receiving calls from the public, and determines the nature of the calls. Convey information or orders to the proper officials. Dispatch response units via radio, paging system, or telecommunication equipment. Receive incoming calls by telephone, teletype, or alarm monitoring company. Monitor location sites. Coordinate with other police departments, fire departments, and emergency responses. Utilize Emergency Medical Dispatch Manual. Maintain accurate radio logs and files. Record details of calls and broadcasts. Perform additional duties as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma. Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License, and free of felony convictions or disqualifying criminal histories.
