JOB TITLE: Transport Manager – Days LOCATION: Greater Manchester SALARY: £35k basic plus bonus The Role: Redhill Recruitment Ltd are working exclusively with a leading UK Wholesaler of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables. Our client is one of the few FMCG food businesses that will always deliver on service. Due to rapid business expansion they are currently recruiting for a Transport Manager to join an already successful team based out of their head office in Greater Manchester. Reporting in to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for co-ordinating the transport operations for the distribution depot in order to achieve maximum levels in customer service and satisfaction. To be successful in this role you will possess a CPC Qualification and have strong Transport Management experience, understanding the responsibilities with ‘day 1 & 2 order capture’ and ‘just in time’ service. Key Responsibilities: • Have direct supervision of drivers during daily de-briefings. • To provide information to both internal and external customers. • To ensure all traffic planning activity is in line with legislative requirements. • Recruit, train, develop and retain a strong department of drivers and transport staff. • Identify and focus on improvement opportunities. • Achieve KPIs as set by the business. • Report weekly activity to the Operations Director. • Maintain effective communication with key internal departments. The Individual: • Must possess CPC qualification. • Must have experience working with ‘Just In Time’ logistics. • A good geographical knowledge of the UK. • Experience of managing a transport office. • Budget management experience. • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
