Performs basic machining operations (drilling, tapping, milling, turning, boring, deburring, and cleaning). Calculates linear dimensions needed for basic machining operations from drawings or blue prints. Performs complex machining operations (indexing, gear cutting, spline cutting, double-lead thread cutting, cutting precision tapers, etc.). Calculates linear, angular and radial dimensions needed for basic and complex machining operations from drawings or blue prints. Set and read precision measuring tools and apply to machining operations. Fabricate or repair basic or complex machined parts from blueprints or drawings. Performs final inspection on basic and complex machined parts. Locate and use information from Machinists Hand Book for basic and complex machining operations. Assists or performs machine work in the field when needed to support customers. Maintains and cleans machines, tools, and work area. Load and unload equipment, components and parts.
