Your Mission Proximity Designs is looking for a promising photographer to visually capture the essence of our organization. Since 2004, our low-cost irrigation and renewable energy products alongside our direct-to-farmer financial services have generated +320 million USD in increased income for our rural customers. Our activities reach 80% of rural Myanmar, and we’re constantly coming across fascinating stories. We’re looking for someone with a keen eye and versatile photography/video skills to help us craft these stories in a visually compelling way, in a variety of media, for our myriad audiences. The objective of this role is to work with our graphic designers and copywriter as part of our Media Team to craft a unique visual identity for Proximity Designs that will come across through our website, customer stories, product packaging, marketing collateral, and in-house communication materials. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for someone with a mind and a passion for storytelling, who is looking to develop their skills in photography or film making while making a difference in the lives of rural families in Myanmar. About Our Media Team Proximity places a strong emphasis on the ability of design to inspire, inform, and transform lives. The Media Team operates as Proximity’s in-house design studio. Our goal is to create experiences that will engage various audiences, help us connect with our customers, and move our brand forward across multiple platforms. This is an international team of creative thinkers, each with a unique strength and skill-set, who rely on collaboration throughout the design process to create innovative materials that speak to both Burmese and international audiences. What You Will Do – Photography, photo editing, videography, some video editing, and subtitling – Travel frequently throughout rural Myanmar to project areas to meet with customers and collect stories – Manage Proximity’s photography and film archives – Collaborate with our copywriter and develop compelling stories, which will involve translating interviews from Burmese to English – Contribute content for our online media platforms (website, Facebook, blog, etc) – Work closely with graphic designers on concept development and visual narrative Is this you – Experience in documentary photography, product photography, and/or portrait photography – Strong attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to pitch and execute your own projects – Great communication skills in English and Burmese – Proficiency in relevant industry tools and in one or more of the following software: Lightroom, Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, and Final Cut Pro. – In interest in brand identity development – Outstanding interpersonal skills.
