JOHN 15:11 (NLT) (JESUS SAID), "I HAVE TOLD YOU THESE THINGS SO THAT YOU WILL BE FILLED WITH MY JOY. YES, YOUR JOY WILL OVERFLOW!" Jesus is a "man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief"( Isaiah53:3 KJV), and we marvel at the depths of His suffering. We also identify with His struggles to endure. We call on Him to help us in our own grief and troubles. Yet, as He told His disciples He also came that we might have joy and have abundantly. Jesus could promise joy because He was the source of redemption and peace. He told them not to worry, because their heavenly Father knew their needs. Often, joy not because of circumstances but in knowing we are beloved of the Father and that all manner of things will be well. Jesus "saw the worst all too clearly, but He also foresaw the great future rewards of His harsh assignments. He would be restored to His rightful place amid the glorious joys music and laughter of heaven."
