JOHN CARPENTER BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA Ok this ones played totally for laughs! It features JC favourite, Kurt Russell, in full on man mode as a dumb trucker Jack Burton who teams up with his friend and restaurant owner Wang Chi to save the word from undead magicians, Asian street gangs, 3 demi Gods and more monsters than you can shake a stick at!! It features almost none stop action ranging from gun fights through to epic martial arts battles and pretty good low budget visual effects!! The plot centres around a evil sorcerer, David Lo pan, who is the boss of the criminal underground in Little China and his attempts at conquering the world by sacrificing a green eyed Chinese girl - who just so happens to be Wang Chis potential bride - to appease his God and achieve Immortality! BUT really you shouldnt worry about that too much, its full of grandiose actions sequences and dumb ass jokes from beginning to end!!! As with many Carpenter films it was a commercial flop but gained Cult status afterwards. If you do turn it on half way through, late one night after the pub I defy you not to be thrilled and entertained by its naff, over the top content!!
