JOHN TURNER was the State Member for Myall Lakes (NATIONAL PARTY) - TopicsExpress

JOHN TURNER was the State Member for Myall Lakes (NATIONAL PARTY) from 19th March, 1988, to 4th March, 2011 and was Shadow Minister for Roads & Tourism from 19th April, 1999, to 8th April, 2003. He was made well aware of the numerous hazards of the (corruptly processed and fraudulently named) Bulahdelah Bypass route Option E. He was also made aware of the fact that the western route Option A would remove pollution from Bulahdelah township, had no genuine impediments, had been documented by the RTA as being geotechnically easier, millions of dollars cheaper and safer for road users than Option E. And that, unlike Option E, the easier, cheaper and safer Option A would not needlessly expose human lives to potentially deadly hazards. John Turner chose to promote the Option E route. From the (12/9/14) article: The NSW Government is investigating the presence of a ‘ghost’ green group after revelations mining giant Whitehaven Coal has been operating a key consultation panel without environmental oversight for more than a year. That panel – the Maules Creek Community Consultative Committee (CCC) – signed off on a Biodiversity Management Plan (BMP) which is now the subject of an ongoing legal battle. ... the company’s published minutes reveal no environmental group has ever attended a single meeting of the Maules Creek CCC. ... documents obtained by New Matilda reveal that those minutes record Greening Australia as having offered its apologies for non-attendance. ... Whitehaven Coal is chaired by former Deputy Prime Minister Mark Vaile, the long-time Nationals member for the seat of Lyne, on the north coast of NSW. The Maules Creek CCC is chaired by Vaile’s former National Party colleague, John Turner, a one-time NSW shadow minister for mining whose state seat overlapped Vaile’s. Mr Turner did not respond to repeated requests for an interview with New Matilda, nor did he respond to a detailed list of questions about how the minutes came to wrongly record apologies from Greening Australia. https://newmatilda/2014/09/12/dope-probes-ghost-greenie-who-oversaw-coal-giants-environmental-plan
