JOIN BOB BARKER & HELP ADI’S OPERATION SPIRIT OF FREEDOM saving circus animals. A wonderful donation of $500,000 from Bob Barker, plus the generous donations of ADI supporters has made stage one of the rescue mission a success: We have built the temporary holding center in Peru and we’ve tracked down the animal circuses and removed the animals. We also have 9 lions in our care in Colombia, which were handed over by a circus following Colombia’s ban. These 9 will need to come to Lima to join the same Spirit of Freedom flight to Colorado. So ADI now has 30 lions, 9 monkeys and other animals in our care. BUT IT’S NOT OVER YET! We do still need donations to complete the next phase of ADI’s Operation Spirit of Freedom which includes: Constructing at least 5 sanctuary habitats in Peru for the rescued monkeys and other native wildlife in the Amazon; airlifting these animals to their new homes; ongoing animal care costs for the Spirit of Freedom Rescue Center; flying the nine lions from Colombia to Peru; following up any reports of wild animals still in Peruvian circuses and ensuring we take all animals. And the biggest cost - the main Spirit of Freedom flight for all 30 lions to Denver for their new life at TWAS. We are also trying to get a group of mountain lions from Argentina up to Peru to join the flight to Denver (there’ll be no spare seats!). There’s still a lot to do – so please join ADI and Bob Barker to complete Operation Spirit of Freedom.
