JOIN PAKISTAN ARMY AS CAPTAIN THROUGH SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION 1. Eligibility Conditions ¾ Qualification Category of Selection Qualification Corps of Engineers (Engrs) BE in Civil Engineering Corps of Signals (Sigs) BE in Telecom ,Software ,Information Technology Corps of Electrical & Mechanical Engineering (EME) BE in Electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Chemical Information, Communication & Technology Officers (ICTOs) B.Sc Computer Engineering / BCS in (Computer Software, Computer System, Geo Informatics), BS (IT), BSCS in (Network Sys/Networking) - 4 years bachelors degree program. ¾ Common Features • Minimum CGPA 2.5 out of 4 for candidates from institutions / universities having semester system or minimum 62.5% marks for candidates from institutions/universities having annual system of examination. • No 3rd Division / Grade D and only one 2ndDivision/Grade C throughout the academic career. • 4 years engineering degree in above mentioned disciplines is must, irrespective of MSc / MCS. • Candidates only graduated from HEC/PEC recognized universities or foreign universities recognized by PEC. • Candidates possessing MSc/MS degree and 2-3 years work experience will be given preference. • For ICTOs, candidates possessing MCS / Masters in Cptr Engg, Masters in SW Engg, MS (IS / IA), MS (GIS & Remote Sensing) who have done 4 years IT related Bachelor degree will be given preference. 2 • A candidate with specific higher qualification is eligible, even if he is twice rejected by ISSB for PMA / Graduate Course or equivalent Naval / PAF Courses. • Appearing candidates can also apply on “HOPE Certificates” duly issued by Head of the universities / institutions. However, such candidates must submit final degree / transcript by 10 September 2014, otherwise they will not be considered in final merit. ¾ Verification of degrees/Education Documents Candidates recommended by ISSB, will be required to submit their verified degrees / transcript from HEC / Universities by 15 October 2014. ¾ Age 28 Years on 1 November 2014. ¾ Gender Male ¾ Marital Status Married/Unmarried ¾ Nationality Male Citizens of Pakistan and domicile holders of Azad Kashmir / Gilgit - Baltistan. Upon final selection candidates with dual nationality will have to surrender nationalities other than Pakistani. ¾ Physical Standards • Minimum Height - 5’ - 4” (162.5 cm) • Weight - As per Body Mass Index (BMI) 2. Ineligibility Conditions ¾ A candidate with specific higher qualification, who is rejected once by ISSB for PMA / Graduate Course or equivalent Naval / PAF Courses and once rejected for specific higher qualification entry, will not be eligible for third chance. ¾ Candidates permanently declared UNFIT by Appeal Medical Board (AMB). 3 ¾ Candidates declared medically unfit due to Hepatitis B & C (AMB cannot berequested). ¾ Candidates declared unfit by any Armed Forces Hospital except those cleared by AMB. ¾ Candidates tested within four months (120 days) gap of previous appearance (For Not Recommended candidates). ¾ Candidates tested within one year validity period. (As validity of ISSB / GHQ / AHQ Sel board stands for one year). ¾ Candidates withdrawn from any Academy / Training Institution of Armed Forces on any ground. ¾ Candidates withdrawn from any bonded Armed Forces colleges / institutions on disciplinary grounds. ¾ Candidates dismissed / removed / debarred from Govt Services including Armed Forces. ¾ Candidates convicted in a Court of Law for an offence involving moral turpitude. ¾ Candidates who will temper his academic certificates, conceal or give wrong info to gain undue advantage, his candidature will be cancelled and declared permanently ineligible for all types of commission in the Armed Forces. ¾ Candidates who have not completed 4 years engineering degree in given disciplines irrespective of MSc / MCS. 3. Registration and Preliminary Selection Procedure Candidates can register through Internet or by visiting Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs). Following procedure will be adopted:- ¾ Registration through Internet A candidate can register on website joinpakarmy.gov.pk. Date and time of test shall be intimated on internet, for which the individual should have an e-mail account. Candidates will report on exact date and time given for preliminary tests on computerized roll number slip. Date, once given will not be changed. Candidates will 4 also bring along documents mentioned in para 6 and will pay prospectus fee on the day of test. Candidates MUST attain working knowledge of computer, as registration and tests will be conducted on computers. ¾ Registration at AS&RCs Candidates may report at nearest AS&RCs for registration / allotment of roll number along with necessary documents mentioned in para 6 and the prospectus fee for completion of registration formalities. Candidates will bring these documents on the day of test as well. ¾ Schedule of Registration / Preliminary Tests Registration and Preliminary Tests will be held as per following schedule:- Registration 16 – 29 June 2014 (Including Sundays) Preliminary Tests 3 - 17 July 2014 ¾ Intelligence / Academic Tests Online intelligence / degree level academic tests based on multiple choice questions will be conducted at AS&RCs as per following schedule:- ¾ Preliminary Medical Test Candidates will undergo initial medical test at AS&RCs. Physical Tests Candidates are required to qualify physical tests as under:- • 1.6 km Run - 9 Minutes. • Push Ups - 10 Repetitions in 2 Minutes. • Sit Ups - 10 Repetitions in 2 Minutes. • Chin Ups - 2 Repetitions in 2 Minutes. Engrs 3 – 4 July 2014 Sigs 7 – 8 July 2014 EME 9 – 11 July 2014 ICTOs 14 – 17 July 2014 5 4. Further Selection Only short listed candidates will be called for ISSBTests / Interviews through website as well as call up letters. ISSB recommended candidates will be interviewed by GHQ Selection Board. Detailed medical examination of ISSB recommended candidates will be carried out at nearby CMHs. Final selection will be made at GHQ on the basis of overall performance of candidates. 5. Basic Military Training 6 Months at PMA Kakul / Engineers Centre, Risalpur. 6. Documents Required at AS&RCs ¾ Original Certificates / Detailed Mark Sheets alongwith one set of attested photocopies of each educational certificate / degree. ¾ Attested photo copy of domicile. ¾ Photocopies of Computerized National Identity Card. ¾ Six passport size coloured photographs duly attested (1x front & 5x back). ¾ Candidates serving in Governments Institutions / Departments will render “No Objection Certificate” of the concerned establishment 7. Bond Finally selected candidates will be required to sign a bond to serve the Army for a minimum period of 7 years on stamp papers worth Rs 100/- duly countersigned by Magistrate / Notary Public / Oath Commissioner. 6 8.
