The Tibetan flag is one of the most recognizable symbols of Tibet’s independent past and Tibetan national identity. However, the flag is banned in Tibet under Chinese rule and its possession can lead to arrest. Today, the flag is an enduring symbol of the Tibetan people’s struggle for freedom and independence. Join the Tibet Flag Challenge by featuring the Tibetan flag in your own unique way to raise awareness about Tibet’s independent past and ongoing struggle for freedom. By making the Tibetan flag the most recognizable in the world, we all can help secure the Tibetan people’s proud past, and shape the future for a free Tibet. 1. We felt its imperative to have a Tibetan flag raised at various institutions so that people could at least be aware about the sufferings inside Tibet. With the help from our Bhai jaan Anees Rehman and Ms. Tahera from Facilities Management, we are finally able to proudly raise the Tibetan Flag at the CUNY Campus of John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
