JOIN US:>) Expressive Approaches to Working with Autism & Learning Disabilities: EXCITED TO FACILITATE a day-long intensive ARTS program with Joanne Lara, Karen Schaefer Howard, Jane Ferris Richardson and Elaine Hall Saturday, November 8th, 10:00am-5:15pm, MANHATTAN. This daylong Master Class, led by a team of senior specialists in the field of autism treatment and services, will offer insight into how to create and sustain programming in dance, drama, music, and art for people with autism and special needs. The presenters have worked collaboratively over the course of a decade in Los Angeles and throughout California, and will lead multimodal, hands-on experientials. Included in this day will be techniques from Autism Movement Therapy (a structured movement & music method) and The Miracle Project (creating original plays based on clients strengths & interests), as well as drumming and music therapy (to stimulate affect and insight), in addition to leading-edge art therapy practices, integrated with play-base approaches. Together, this skilled group of colleagues will provide the experience, expertise, and safety for multidisciplinary group exploration and collaboration—a vibrant, creative model for the treatment of people with ASD and related challenges. Professionals from all disciplines are welcome.
