JON CLIFFORD’s TRISTAR BOYS ANNUAL PRIZEGIVING CEREMONY (Season 2014) Jon Clifford’s Tristar Boys held their Annual award ceremony tonight, Thursday 27th November 2014, in front of a large attendance on the night, players, parents, coaches and committee members. Master of ceremonies on the night, Garry Matthewson welcomed special guest Stephen Kenny to award the prizes. Club chairman, Robbie McFarland, spoke first and talked about the successes of the previous year, and thanked the Coaches and committee member for their tireless work., and how since the passing of Jon Clifford, the club has rallied around, and has driven the club forward. He then handed over the microphone to Stephen Kenny. Stephen, is the current Dundalk manager who have just won the League of Ireland. Stephen is most famous in Derry for taking charge of Derry City on two occasions and his speech was both helpful and very inspirational as he was amazed that the club has 43 coaches or committee members and he also told the kids that no matter how they are placed in their age group, keep practicing and working hard and everything is possible. The presentation then commenced with all last years kids from Under 5-Under 10 receiving a medal for their efforts. Then came the awards, each team having a Top Goal Scorer, Most Improved and Player’s Player of the Year Award. There was also a Clubman of the Year Award and the night finished with a special, Tristar Topstar Award, which Ugg was a great believer in.Well done to everyone for the past efforts and good luck for the reminder of this season.
