JONATHAN NOT PERFECT BUT BUHARI IS NOT AN OPTION.(PT 6) Goodluck Jonathan A silent revolution is taking place in Lagos. Everyday, thousands of Lagosians are escaping the hustle and bustle of Lagos traffic by traversing the mainland in the new air condition Diesel Multiple Unit trains. These trains were introduced by my administration as a fore taste of our plan to develop an inter and intra city high speed train network for Lagos. The Federal Government has already signed a $1.5 Billion contract for the construction of the Lagos-Ibadan Express Train. This service, when complete, will make it possible to live in Ibadan and work in Lagos. This is progressing simultaneously with the $12 Billion Lagos-Calabar coastal rail project. This project is 1,402 kilometers long and will link Lagos to Calabar with stops at cities along the route. We have good plans for Lagos, plans that will ensure that Lagos continues to be the Center of Excellence and a pride to Nigeria. GEJ. On Saturday, I visited the construction site of the 2nd Niger Bridge at Onitsha to see the progress being made. This administration is determined to build bridges and other infrastructure for our people in order to promote unity, the growth of our economy and the general wellbeing of people. GEJ I received the news that Nigerias Interstate High Speed Rail Project has been listed amongst the worlds top 100 infrastructure projects with a sense of fulfillment that this administrations desire to link our commercial and administrative capitals is receiving global affirmation. Coming at a time when the Abuja-Kaduna rail project has reached near completion stage, one can say Nigeria is witnessing a railway revolution. This Forward March to progress will continue, with your cooperation, until Nigerias infrastructure, be they roads, schools, airports or hospitals, are listed as amongst the best in the world.
