JOY NWOSU, ACTRESS IN IL NERO Enjoy this rare excerpt from IL NERO, an indie film written and directed by newcomer filmmaker and filmcritic Giovanni Vento in 1966, never released commercially in Italy. This sequence features Joy Nwosu, in those days a Nigerian soprano singer based in Italy, with a degree in film studies and author of the book CINEMA E AFRICA NERA (1968, new ed. 2014), and Silvano Manera, in the film and in real life a Neapolitan young man of mixed origins, whose father was a Buffalo Soldier fighting in Italy during the WWII.
