JP to continue being an AL ally >>>> Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad has promised to continue being part of ruling Awami League-led Grand Alliance after meeting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. But the parties will go their separate ways to contest the general election if the opposition BNP decides not to join the balloting, they said at a joint press briefing later. Ershad held talks with Hasina, who also heads the ruling Awami League, at the Ganabhaban. He led a delegation of 15 senior party leaders to the talks lasting one and half an hours from at 7:30pm before joining a dinner. The former President, who of late has been speaking about leaving the Awami League-led combine, then had an one-on-one talks with Hasina for half an hour. Jatiya Party’s Secretary General ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader said, “We will participate in the elections as part of the Grand Alliance.” “But the situation will dictate whether we will go to elections by ourselves.” Awami League General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam said, “The Grand Alliance has remained intact. We will contest the election being in the Grand Alliance.” “If other political parties do not participate in the elections, we will then decide whether we should go to elections as the grand alliance or separately.” The BNP has threatened to boycott the elections under any partisan government. Even the opposition leader, Khaleda Zia, recently called for forming resistance committees at the polling centre areas to resist any election they will stay away from. The meeting between the two allies took place two days after the Prime Minister proposed an all-party government to oversee the looming general elections. Bangladesh’s politics has remained volatile over the nature of the poll-time government with the election due any time between Oct 25 and Jan 24. Amid this impasse, the Prime Minister in a televised speech on Friday asked the opposition to come forward with names of leaders to be included in the all-party interim government. The BNP is yet to give its official reaction to the proposal. Ershad’s Jatiya Party said the proposal lacked ‘clarity’. Its Secretary General Howlader told journalists on Saturday that the Prime Minister did not clarify who would head her proposed interim government and whether the incumbent Cabinet would be in place and if there would be a level playing field. However, Ershad has not made any comment on the proposal yet. bdnews24/politics/2013/10/21/jp-to-continue-being-an-al-ally হাসিনা-এরশাদ বৈঠক >>>> তফসিলের পর জোট বা আলাদা নির্বাচনের সিদ্ধান্ত >>> প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার সঙ্গে গত রাতে জাতীয় পার্টির (জাপা) চেয়ারম্যান হুসেইন মুহম্মদ এরশাদের বৈঠক হয়। জানা গেছে, বৈঠকে উভয় নেতা একমত হন যে, নভেম্বরে নির্বাচনের তফসিল ঘোষণার পর সিদ্ধান্ত হবে আওয়ামী লীগ ও জাতীয় পার্টি জোটগতভাবে অংশ নেবে নাকি জাতীয় পার্টি এককভাবে নির্বাচন করবে। বৈঠকে অংশগ্রহণকারী নেতাদের সূত্রে এ তথ্য জানা গেছে। একটি সূত্র জানায়, বৈঠকে শেখ হাসিনা মহাজোটের অন্যতম শরিক দল জাতীয় পার্টির চেয়ারম্যান হুসেইন মুহম্মদ এরশাদের কাছে নির্বাচনকালীন সরকার নিয়ে বিভিন্ন অস্পষ্টতা দূর করার চেষ্টা করেন। এরশাদকে প্রধানমন্ত্রী জানান, নির্বাচন নিয়ে তিনি বিএনপির সঙ্গেও বসতে রাজি। ধারাবাহিকভাবে সব দলের সঙ্গে এ বিষয়ে আলোচনা হবে। সর্বদলীয় সরকারে আনুপাতিক হারে জাতীয় পার্টির প্রতিনিধি থাকবে। পরে সংবাদ সম্মেলনে বক্তব্য দেন আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক সৈয়দ আশরাফুল ইসলাম ও জাপা মহাসচিব রুহুল আমিন হাওলাদার। এ সময় মধ্য জানুয়ারিতে নতুন সরকার গঠন করা বলে জানান আশরাফ। গতকাল রবিবার গণভবনে রাত পৌনে ৮টার দিকে ১৫ সদস্যের প্রতিনিধিদল নিয়ে এরশাদ আওয়ামী লীগ সভাপতি শেখ হাসিনার সঙ্গে বৈঠকে বসেন। প্রায় দেড় ঘণ্টা বৈঠক শেষে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর দেওয়া নৈশভোজে অংশ নেন জাতীয় পার্টির নেতারা। এর আগে সর্বশেষ ২৭ জুন গাজীপুর সিটি নির্বাচনে জাতীয় পার্টির সমর্থন বিষয়ে সংসদ ভবনে দুই দলের প্রধানের বৈঠক অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল। বৈঠক সূত্র জানায়, গণভবনে প্রবেশের পরপরই জাপা নেতাদের সঙ্গে কুশল বিনিময় করেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা। দেশের রাজনীতির অবস্থা সম্পর্কে এরশাদের কাছে জানতে চান প্রধানমন্ত্রী। এরশাদ তখন গত শুক্রবার জাতির উদ্দেশে দেওয়া শেখ হাসিনার ভাষণের ‘অস্পষ্টতা’ নিয়ে কথা বলেন। জবাবে প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, ডিসেম্বরের শেষ সপ্তাহে অথবা জানুয়ারির প্রথম সপ্তাহে নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের প্রধান কে হবেন সে বিষয়ে এরশাদকে তিনি বলেন, ‘বিষয়টি এখনো চূড়ান্ত নয়। সংবিধান অনুযায়ীই সব হবে, তবে অনির্বাচিত কারো হাতে ক্ষমতা দেওয়া হবে না। দেশের মানুষের শান্তির জন্য গণতান্ত্রিক পন্থায় সুষ্ঠু নির্বাচন দিতে চাই।’ সূত্র জানায়, প্রধানমন্ত্রী ১/১১-এর পটভূমি ও পরবর্তী পরিস্থিতি তুলে ধরে বক্তব্য দেন। এর একপর্যায়ে এরশাদ মহাজোটে থাকবেন বলে সায় দেন। এ বৈঠকের ফলে নির্বাচন নিয়ে অস্পষ্টতা দূর হয়ে গেছে বলে জানিয়েছেন এরশাদ। সরকারের বিভিন্ন সমালোচনা ও মহাজোট ছেড়ে একক নির্বাচন করার হুমকির মধ্যেই এরশাদের সঙ্গে এ বৈঠক করলেন শেখ হাসিনা। গত শুক্রবার জাতির উদ্দেশে দেওয়া ভাষণে শুক্রবার প্রধানমন্ত্রী নির্বাচনকালীন সর্বদলীয় সরকার গঠনের প্রস্তাব রেখে তাতে অংশ নিতে বিএনপির প্রতি আহ্বান জানান। পরদিন প্রতিক্রিয়ায় জাতীয় পার্টি জানায়, সর্বদলীয় সরকার গঠনের বিষয়ে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর প্রস্তাব ‘স্পষ্ট’ হয়নি। এরশাদের নেতৃত্বে জাপা প্রতিনিধিদল সন্ধ্যা সাড়ে ৭টার দিকে গণভবনে পৌঁছালে আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক সৈয়দ আশরাফুল ইসলাম, জাহাঙ্গীর কবির নানক, হাছান মাহমুদ ও ফারুক খান তাঁকে অভ্যর্থনা জানান। এরশাদের সঙ্গে দলের প্রেসিডিয়াম সদস্য কাজী জাফর আহমেদ, জিয়া উদ্দিন আহমেদ বাবলু, জি এম কাদের, কাজী ফিরোজ রশীদ, মহাসচিব এ বি এম রুহুল আমীন হাওলাদার, মোস্তাফা জামাল হায়দার, ব্যারিস্টার আনিসুল ইসলাম মাহমুদ, ব্রিগেডিয়ার (অব.) কাজী মাহমুদ হাসান, অধ্যাপক দেলোয়ার হোসেন খান, ফকির আশরাফ, আবু হোসেন বাবলা, এস এম ফয়সল চিশতী, মেজর (অব.) খালেদ উপস্থিত ছিলেন। শেখ হাসিনার সভাপতিত্বে বৈঠকে সৈয়দা সাজেদা চৌধুরী, আমির হোসেন আমু, তোফায়েল আহমেদ, শেখ ফজলুল করিম সেলিম, সুরঞ্জিত সেনগুপ্ত, মোহাম্মদ নাসিম, কাজী জাফরউল্যাহ, মতিয়া চৌধুরী, ওবায়দুল কাদের, এইচ টি ইমাম, আলাউদ্দিন আহমেদ, মৃণাল কান্তি দাস, আবদুস সোবহান গোলাপ এবং প্রধানমন্ত্রীর নিরাপত্তাবিষয়ক উপদেষ্টা তারেক আহমেদ সিদ্দিক উপস্থিত ছিলেন। kalerkantho/print_edition/index.php?view=details&type=gold&data=news&pub_no=1398&cat_id=1&menu_id=13&news_type_id=1&news_id=386394#.UmRY-vvLJUU
