JPS TOP 5 Comedies to Watch on a Regular Basis: #2: ADDAMS FAMILY VALUES (1993) The original was funny, but it had many flaws. A faster-paced sequel with laughs surpassing its predecessor is the best way to describe this early 90s classic. Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, and Christina Ricci (in a role she was doomed never to outshine) take their characters to new comedic heights, accentuated nicely by Christopher Lloyd (yes, he was great too, but liking him is similar to liking Danny DeVitos Penguin: hes great but gross), a much needed, spot-on cast change of Grandma Addams with the talented Carol Kane, the brilliantly-hilarious Christine Baranski & Peter MacNicol, and many others. But Joan Cusack as the MAL-I-BU BAR-BIE-Hating Floozy Femme Fatale: perfection. Smooth, flowing, clever cinematography & editing help make this wealth of one-liners a far-superior sequel. Never a dull watch.
