JPs SMILE AWHILE: A new reporter fresh out of journalism school accepted the assignment to interview the new minister in town, also newly graduated from seminary and beginning his first ministry. Wanting to impress the reporter, the new minister began his interview telling four very funny jokes which he planned to use at church. The new minister added a special request, “Please don’t print any these yet because I want to use them in my first sermon next Sunday.” “No problem, we won’t ruin it for you,” responded the new reporter. So, the rookie newsman’s report in the next day’s paper began, “We found the new minister at First Church to be an intelligent and interesting man. He also has a great sense of humor and knows many funny jokes. Unfortunately, we cannot publish any of the jokes he told.”
