JUDASIL, the association of Junior Doctors in Sierra Leone on - TopicsExpress

JUDASIL, the association of Junior Doctors in Sierra Leone on December 8th 2014 asked their members to lay down tools in order to force the government to pay much better attention to calls for improved conditions under which they work especially during Ebola Virus Outbreak now raging. According to junior doctors, some of the senior doctors in the country were not seeking their welfare when they represent medical profession in front of government officials. However, JUDASIL confirmed that they had been invited to meet with President Koroma himself over the weekend but the meeting yielded assurances and promises only and nothing conclusive as expected “so the strike went on as planned”. We’re tired of empty promises as we watch colleagues die in absence of basic equipment like dialysis machines at centers. We are sadly working at risk without health insurance except a spoken promise that if we die, our families will get $5,000. That is our worth; five thousand dollars! an executive member of JUDASIL lamented.
