JUDGES #GODSARMYARISING #TSL About 3000 years ago, the land of Israel was ruled by a succession of judges, rather than kings. A biblical judge (Hebrew: shofet שופט, pl. shoftim שופטים) is a ruler or a military leader, as well as someone who presided over legal hearings. Following the conquest of Canaan by Joshua until the formation of the first Kingdom of Israel (ca. 1150–1025 BC), the Israelite Tribes formed a loose confederation. No central government existed in this confederation and in times of crisis, the people were led by ad hoc chieftains known as judges. The judges were the successive individuals, each from a different tribe of Israel, chosen by God to rescue the people from their enemies and establish justice and the practice of the Torah amongst the Hebrews. There were 15 people who served as judges: Gideon, Barrak, Deborah, Ehud, Shamgar, Samuel,Eli,Samson,Abdon,Elon, Ibzan,Jephtah,Jair,Tola, Abimelech. These people did exploits for God on the earth affecting their nation as a whole Today, God is raising a company not individuals, God is raising a people not a few men, an army, a generation seeking for more....
